Project SOAR

Building a Solid Foundation for Personal & Financial Success

Alice Participants

Asset Limited Income-Constrained Employed

Who qualifies for Project SOAR? Participants are households that work hard but struggle to make ends meet. Living paycheck to paycheck with little to no savings, ALICE families are one major accident, medical bill, or hurricane away from poverty. ALICE families are above the poverty level, but do not meet the survival level based upon the household income and the number of children. Our goal is to assist families in reducing their expenses during the first year of the program and to increase incomes during the second year. Funds will be available to assist with one-time emergencies during the first year. Increasing income during the second year can be accomplished via obtaining a certification to secure a better job or starting a small business, just to name a few things.
